Dear Helen, I am sending you and your children my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy for your terrible loss. You may not remember me, and my words and thoughts can hardly provide relief in this difficult time. But perhaps you will find at least some comfort in knowing that I will always remember Mike as a kind, intelligent, supportive and funny colleague and friend. I liked and respected Mike from the minute I met him at Sanofi Pasteur MSD in Lyon back in 2004. We shared the same passion for vaccines and vaccination as well as intercultural curiosity and understanding amongst many other things. We never lost contact even though we took different paths following the Gardasil adventure and put the pond between us for most of the time. I feel honored and grateful to have known Mike for more than 18 years. Please excuse my absence from the service on Thursday but be sure that I will there in spirit.
